Mithras Oasis was established on March 20, 2010 in the Valley of Windham, Connecticut, growing from a small group of O.T.O. members from across the New England area into a vibrant magickal community.
Mithras Oasis is comprised of individuals, each of whom, while blazing their own unique and individual path, have also made the commitment to work well with one another. The "work" within the Oasis can entail a variety of tasks, responsibilities, and goals. First, let it be noted that the image of an "oasis" symbolizes refuge and refreshment, a place to intermingle and be in peach. Each member of Mithras Oasis has aligned themselves to work with one another, to stay attentive to the bonds of fraternity, and to encourage one another as we each pursue or own True Will. We are all born free, independent, shining gloriously, each with a divine Will of one's own, according to the Law of Liberty. To that end, Mithras Oasis provides a welcoming space where members and guests may share tof themselves with one another, thus furthering our understanding of the universe.
We provide free public (and private) celebrations of the Gnostic Mass, offer initiations into the fraternal tradition of Ordo Templi Orientis, present lectures on Thelema, host seasonal rites/rituals, and organize a variety of workshops and group events regarding devotional techniques, ritual magick, tarot, meditation practices, literature, history, art (and other topics within the wider range of Western Esotericism). Mithras Oasis meets in Storrs, Connecticut and Watertown, Connecticut. Mithras Oasis is affiliated with Tahuti Chapter R+C and United States Grand Lodge Ordo Templi Orientis. Mithras Oasis is an annual donor to, and organizational member of, the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, the oldest private, nonprofit conservation organization in Connecticut.
The variety of events sponsored by Mithras Oasis, both public and private, are listed on our calendar of events, as well as communicated by way of an email distribution list (to be added to our email list, or if you would like to attend one of our regularly scheduled events, please contact us at: mithras.contact@oto-usa.org). We look forward to making your acquaintance.
